NISIMS Module for MapItFast

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) implemented the National Invasive Species Information Management System, or NISIMS, with the intent to standardize the way weed infestations are recorded and treated across the country. NISIMS data is collected throughout all BLM lands and is ultimately integrated into a national BLM geospatial database.

Two Ways to Gather NISIMS Data

Our NISIMS forms can be filled out in multiple ways to fit the operational needs of different BLM contractors.

Map-based input allows users to add a point, line or polygon to a map (using the integrated GPS or on-screen digitizing) and then fill out an infestation and/or treatment form for the mapped object.

Form-only input allows users to fill out the same NISIMS data through a dedicated Strider app for Android devices. The NISIMS forms use a GPS widget to gather the coordinates of your location directly.

Specific Features of the NISIMS Module

The MapItFast NISIMS Module meets the requirements set forth by the BLM for NISIMS ready data collection while also serving as a business ready tool for other mapping, data gathering and reporting requirements. NISIMS Module features include:
